Memory Garden 5 - Bound Brook Presbyterian Cemetery
Bound Brook Presbyterian Cemetery, Bound Brook NJ
Originally 12 acres of land "on the road leading to the mountain", this former farm land has been carefully cared for. A truly beautiful cemetery. I love wandering the ground here. The tree lined "avenues" are peaceful and the sculpture is thought provoking.
Although associated with the Presbyterian Church, this is a non-denominational burial ground. Rising up from just about anywhere in the cemetery, looking to the west, is the steeple; tall and blue, rising above and leading the way to heaven for the believers.
The first person interred here was Civil War soldier Nicholas Conover, age 29, who died on May 15,1864
This was one of the very first cemeteries I photographed.
